Haiyan manages all of the financial matters for the department; such as Payroll, e-Reimbursement, Purchasing and Order processing, Office Supplies, Copier and Key maintenance. In addition, she reviews faculty Effort Report on a quarterly basis. Under the direction of the Department Administrator, Haiyan also assists with Classroom Assignments, HR Paperwork, Benefits, Direct Deposits, Leave Report, and Visa Application.

Rachel meets with students to discuss plans and requirements for all of our undegraduate programs. She advises students who have interest in, or questions about placement into the languages offered in the department. Rachel supports graduate students in understanding policies and procedures. Rachel staffs ALC's Curriculum and Plannning Committee (CPC), and the Graduate Admissions and Funding Committee. The Wisconsin Idea is near and dear to Rachel's heart and she often coordinates outreach on campus or in the community that involve members of our department. Rachel also assists the department in communication platforms; such as web content, annual newslettter, weekly e-News and social media.

As the Office Assistant, Sisley is responsible for managing the ALC website, producing and distributing the 2018-2019 Department Newsletter, and working with other administrative staff members about any matter. In terms of administrative duties, she assists Alyson with human resources and payroll duties, produces the weekly e-bulletin, manages room reservations for 1220/1224, distributes mails, maintains departmental listservs, records retention and runs errands on campus. In addition, Sisley assists with curriculum management and reporting, as well as other administrative duties as necessary.
Sisley is currently a second year student studying Communication Arts and International Studies, as well as aiming for an East Asian Studies certificate at University of Wisconsin - Madison.
