Research Interests:
Takako Nakakubo earned her Ph.D. in Second Language Acquisition from the University of Iowa. Her research interests include second language acquisition of Japanese, task-based language teaching, learning strategies, and curriculum development. She has extensive teaching experience at all levels of Japanese language courses at various universities and colleges in the United States and Japan. In addition to teaching Japanese, she has been supervising and training graduate teaching assistants. Her current research project focuses on Japanese learners thought processes during speaking tasks and investigates how teacher guidance and class activities could improve their speeches.
