My research interests include medieval Chinese narrative prose, development of historiography in Tang, and representation of non-Han people. My dissertation explores the connections between compilation of the Jin shu 晉書 and self-representation of the emperor Tang Taizong. I have taught courses in Chinese language and literary and religious studies and I am currently a managing editor of Chinese Literature: Essays, Articles, Reviews (CLEAR).
