Sara Farsiu, ALC's Persian Lecturer and Doctoral Student in Second Language Acquisiton, was recognized with a 2018 Community-University Partnership Award for her volunteer service.
Two years ago, the Jewish Social Services in Madison contacted the Persian instructors at UW-Madison and asked for volunteer help. Ever since, Sara has been volunteering as an interpreter for refugees from Afghanistan. This summer Chancellor Blank issued a certificate of recognition for this service.
