Professional Development for Graduate Students

We are happy to announce that the department is holding a professional development workshop on course syllabus development at 2:00-4:00 pm on Friday, April 6th (Room 1051 Van Hise Hall).
Please mark your calendar!

The ability to develop course syllabi and to propose new courses is among the essential qualifications required for any academic position in higher education. In this session, we will provide you with information regarding some critical background information regarding institutional requirements for course syllabi <https://teachlearn.provost.wisc.edu/course-syllabi/>, ALC faculty’s approaches to course syllabus development, and a upcoming call for proposals for Summer 2019 courses.

The panelists for the session will be as follows:

Kimbrin Cornelius, Curricular Administrative Specialist, College of Letters and Science
Rania Huntington, Professor of Chinese Literature, Chair of ALC Curriculum and Planning Committee
Tyrell Haberkorn, Associate Professor of Southeast Asian Studies
Junko Mori, Professor of Japanese Linguistics, Director of Graduate Studies

Our hope is to run this workshop as interactive as possible, responding to any questions you may have on this matter and sharing our ideas.

Please let me know if you have any question and/or request for this workshop.

Best,
Junko Mori
