SAB is the highest award given to BIPA (Indonesian for Foreign Speakers) experts who have steadfastly developed the field of teaching Indonesian as a foreign language both at home and abroad. 2017 awards recognized Prof. Dendy Sugono (Indonesia) and Erlin Susanti Barnard (University of Wisconsin-Madison, United States).
