What I can Share with Students: Because I don’t have an Asian language background, my experience learning Japanese has been unique. As a peer mentor, I can share what it was like to start learning a completely new language and help potential students understand that they don’t need prior experience to succeed. I can offer advice on studying, staying motivated, getting through challenges, and becoming more comfortable with the language over time. I also hope to encourage students who may feel intimidated by starting something unfamiliar and show them that it is possible to grow and find a strong sense of community through the experience.
Fun fact about Me: I was a competitive Irish dancer for 11 years!
