Trang Tran is an English teacher with more than 14 years of classroom experience. She holds a master’s degree in theory and method of English language teaching from Can Tho University where she graduated with honors and a B.A. in English pedagogy from An Giang University. She later obtained teaching certificates in TEFL as well as numerous TESOL qualifications from the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO). Based in Vietnam, she has extensive experience teaching EFL at both primary and secondary levels. She tutored and worked with regional teachers of English in the advanced English classes in An Giang, Vietnam to prepare for the C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
She was awarded a Fulbright FLTA position at UW Madison from 2016-2017 and is currently enrolled in the Master’s degree program in Department of Curriculum and Instruction. She is teaching intermediate and advanced Vietnamese during fall 2019 semester in the Department of Asian Languages and Cultures. Her research interests include:
- English Language Teaching, Learning and Usage for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
- Sociocultural approaches to Second Language Acquisition
- Second/foreign language pedagogy for less commonly taught languages
