Prior to coming to UW-Madison, Kaoruko taught Japanese as a heritage language at Burnaby Japanese Language School and Vancouver Japanese Language School in Canada. She also taught Japanese as a second language at Tang qi High School in China. Kaoruko’s research interests include designing curricula and creating clear communication skills and criteria that can encourage students to acquire more practical language skills for Japanese classes.
