Currently pursuing a Ph.D.degree in Chinese Linguistics, Bo’s dissertation investigates the comparison between the prosodic structure of Japanese and Chinese poetry. Another field of her research explores the teaching and perception of pragmatics. She is particularly interested in the teaching of Japanese refusals to Chinese and English speakers. In addition to her research, Bo has taught various levels of Chinese and Japanese at Purdue University, the University of Wisconsin Madison and Beloit College.
