Filipino

Filipinos have been in America since the 17th century and comprise one of the fastest growing Asian-American communities in the US today. According to census data, Tagalog is the fourth most commonly spoken non-English language in the US. Its standardized version, called Filipino, is the national language of the Philippines, a Southeast Asian country with a population of nearly 100 million, rich in cultural and linguistic diversity. It is the common language in a country with approximately 180 languages and is used among more than 10 million Filipinos in over 30 countries worldwide.
